[Skillsoft Percipio Release Notes] Announcing New Features to Help You Transform Your Workforce
Propel Your Organization and People to Grow Together
We continually release new features and enhancements based on your feedback and ideas. We want to share some recent additions with you here. You can review the complete list of changes in the August 22 Release Notes.
ENCOURAGE LEARNERS TO SELECT AN ASPIRATIONAL ROLE — NOW AVAILABLE IN ROLE ADVISOR
Empower your learners to focus on career growth by allowing them to select an aspirational role. This feature offers personalized recommendations to bridge the gap between their skills and those required for their desired position. This new feature:
- Recommends target skills needed for the aspirational role.
- Identifies skill gaps by comparing target skills to current job-role skills.
- Recommends content to close the most significant skills gaps first.
The Aspirational role is on by default, but you can turn it off from Site Settings > Site Configuration > Site features.
DYNAMIC CONTENT — SET THE DEFAULT TO ANY LANGUAGE
WHAT IS DYNAMIC CONTENT?
Dynamic content prompts learners to answer a series of questions. Based on their answers, learners receive one or more content items, such as courses, books, and videos. This feature assists with diverse training needs such as anti-harassment, new hire orientation, and streamlining content management within a single assignment or program.
With the latest update, you can now set the default language for Dynamic content to any language, removing the previous requirement for English-first creation.
For more information, see Dynamic content.
NOTIFY YOUR LEARNERS — COURSE UPDATES TO SUPPORT THE NEW COMPLIANCE EXPERIENCE
On Sunday, September 1, 13 compliance courses will automatically update on your organization’s platform. These courses will retain the same content and course ID, maintaining the same look and feel.
What to Expect:
Learners who start a course before September 1 and exit mid-progress may need to restart the course from the beginning. Courses completed before this date will remain unaffected.
Training history in Skillsoft Percipio, Skillport, or your LMS stays intact.
Content customized by Skillsoft Services remains intact.
After the update, learners will be bookmarked back to the beginning of the course, and tests will be reset.
Recommended Action: We recommend informing your learners to complete any courses they have in progress before the update to preserve their bookmarked progress.
See this list for more information, including the list of updated courses.
CREATE CONFIGURATIONS MORE EASILY IN THE SKILLSOFT PERCIPIO COMPLIANCE SUITE
To support new features for Topic Management of Compliance courses, you can now only create configurations by selecting Add Configuration from the Actions menu of a course. This enhancement only prevents new base configurations from being made — existing configurations will remain unaffected.
Later this year, New Topic Management will be available for all Percipio Compliance Suite courses. This will include the ability to reorder course content, show/hide course content, and insert custom content within a course flow.
For more information, see Configuring a course, and stay tuned for further updates regarding the New Topic Management features.
PREPARE NOW — ADMIN SWITCHES AVAILABLE
(1) MONTHLY LEARNING DIGEST EMAIL COMING SOON, NEW SETTING AVAILABLE
We are introducing a new Monthly Learning Digest email for learners, showcasing their achievements from the previous month.
A new setting to manage this feature is live on the Engagement & Notifications > Email Campaigns page. The setting is ON by default, as our research shows that learners engage more with relevant emails.
If you prefer not to send this email, you can turn off your organization’s Monthly Learning Digest Email before it goes live to learners. This admin switch allows you to manage communication preferences, ensuring the learning experience is tailored to your organization’s policies.
(2) TAGGING IN Q&A
The Q&A tab in Skillsoft courses allows learners to ask questions and receive answers from AI or Subject Matter Experts (SMEs). Coming soon, learners will also have the option to tag other users in their organization.
If you want learners to refrain from tagging others, turn off the Learner tagging setting on the Engagement and Notifications > Social Learning page before the feature goes live later this year. This setting is on by default when Q&A is enabled.
