Interesting and I see the improved speed to build and even organize content.  We're still trying to identify best library curation practices with all the various levels of Area > Subject > Channel....and then Journey standing separate from the Channels themselves.  We have only just recently gone live, but I had some of our Learning Admins ask to organize in the opposite direction and have the ability to place Journeys inside of Channels, so I'm not sure how to even identify best practices at this point.

Hi @Gina Spindler I think we'd be hesitant to allow curation of channels into journeys. Channels have historically been considered "evergreen", meaning new, relevant content is regularly added to them. Because of that, they're not complete-able so a track that contained a channel would also not be complete-able.

Is the desire to curate a channel into a track because the channel already contains content you'd want to pre-populate into a journey? If so, we have considered a feature to create a new journey from an existing channel. Does that sound like it might provide a solution you're looking for?

Hi @Steve Dunn welcome to Percipio! I think Gina, above, probably has a specific use case in mind for wanting to include channels into journeys. As I mentioned, we usually think of channels as evergreen, or like Netflix genres, in the sense that learners never really reach the end because new content is regularly added to them. Journeys on the other hand are for more prescribed learning, ie: to prep for a specific role or gain a specific skill. While learners don't finish channels, they would complete a journey or reach a destination (achieve a specific goal with their learning). I hope this helps highlight some of the differences between the two.

You also mentioned identifying best practices. I've included some links for you that may be helpful. Here is a document outlining some best practices for curating Skillsoft content and a document on best practices for custom content.

Hi @Michael Murphy, some of our users are interested in adding Channels as optional content to Journeys. Currently, we would have to add each course from a Channel to one of the Optional sections. In additional to being time consuming, we would miss out on any new content added to the Channel.

Hi @Gina Spindler, we'd like to introduce a new feature option to make channels complete-able before they can be included in journeys. We'll want to provide that ability before we allow them to be included in journeys. Right now I don't have a timeline on either of those enhancements however.
