Thank you for this feedback.  We do get this request, but we always want to balance the administrative components of such a feature.  For compliance content, opening the full licensed library to users may have negative consequences.  For example, users in California taking the Connecticut, New York or Multi-state Harassment content would means users have not met the requirements of the training and could put a company at risk.  I am curious to hear if you agree the administrator (customer) should have control over which compliance content available to surface in Search for a user?

@Carla Sparks Tingle -  Packaging Corp of America just informed me this was a high priority for them. They need their managers to be able to search for EH&S content.

They gave the scenario that they immediately need someone to watch Ladder Safety. Currently the manager needs to email someone at corporate and they tell them they need ladder safety. The manager doesn’t know exactly which course needs to be assigned and the individual assigning training currently sends screenshots of available options. This back and forth with emails costs time opposed to just being able to have the individual search for and complete the training and be in compliance.

The individual doing the assigning also voiced her concern that the current experience is frustrating for them and for the manager looking to get the training assigned because the manager can’t find courses which results in back and forth emails with screenshots and a lot of time spent waiting. Also, if 5 people need to complete training it is cumbersome in the system currently to assign the training individually to 5 people when it would be easier for them to search for the necessary training and complete it not as a recurring but simply a one off vs building an entire audience to then assign to 5 people.

Thanks so much Amber!!  Since Safety is our key driver, this is an extremely visible issue running all the way up the chain!!

@Kathy Estabrooke and @Amber Briggs - Would it work for these managers to be given access to Percipio Compliance Library?  We are implementing a new feature in Q4 where courses may be previewed from the Library page in the Percipio Compliance Admin area.  We have the ability to grant Manager roles access to just that feature in the Compliance admin.  From there, they could preview any course entitled in the site.  The page includes course ids and codes, so when they request the assignment they would be able to send the exact Title and Course ID to be clear about the requested addition.  Does this seem like a workable solution for Packaging Corp of America's needs?

@Carla Sparks Tingle and @Amber Briggs   Thanks so much, Carla.  This is definitely helpful but it is still half a banana.  We need the ability to JIT courses and the functionality of Compliance simultaneously.  It would would be awesome if our leaners had the ability to search for the courses and then have the ability to designate how they are taking the course with a selection button.  Required which would then set the course to be taken on a yearly basis or Not Required taking the course on a "nice to know" basis.  Then, of course, the ability for an admin to reset the flag if the wrong button was selected by mistake.

    I could not agree more!!!

In addition to the traditional usage of Safety and Compliance Courses for New Hire and Recertification training - we leverage this content several ways when we had SkillPort that we can't today. For example, we had 3 Featured Content courses each month and one was either a compliance and/or safety course, we created Career Paths for those looking to move into other roles that included these courses, and we had safety alerts after an incident occurred to educate and inform users with recommended training, etc.. We no longer have access to do this in Percipio and it would very beneficial if Percipio Compliance functioned like Percipio Core, the only difference being the recertification capability. Safety and compliance used to be part of Learning Programs, now Journey's, and we know longer have that functionality too. This is a huge loss and impacts our user experience.

Yes, making the content available in core as well as being able to add certain compliance courses to Learning Programs is huge for us.  We used to be able to do this through a different LMS, however we moved to Percipio because of the LXP and how great it is.  Managers have a difficult time utilizing Percipio Compliance because it is so outdated and difficult to navigate compared to Core Percipio. As well we get feedback from users that it's not as easy to access and is confusing because it's separated.
@Carla Sparks Tingle one way to make the compliance courses only viewable by certain states is to add that field (I already have that in attributes) and create an audience that can only view their own state's compliance material.  That's how we limit content for specific audiences in Percipio currently.

This is a functionality Essentials Utilities/Peoples Natural Gas would also like. They are currently on Skillport and utilizing Learning Programs that contain both Core and Compliance courses as part of mandatory training for employees. They cannot migrate to Percipio without the capability to contain both Core and Compliance content in assignments in the future.
