Our client would like managers to be able to get notifications which could be a scheduled report for their team members on overdue assignments.The managers would be those users tagged as Approval Managers.

@Anthony Lelei Thank you for the great suggestion! So the request here is to send the overdue details to approval manager. In case of no Approval manager, should we consider sending emails to Audience owners?0

@Hema Vanapalli yes even to audience owners or a combination of both. Most important is a way to notify managers in case of any overdue assignments.0

This is a great idea - but Manager or approval manager? In our case Manager would be the key field.
