Report - Content Status Report

Hi team,

Our client's admins (and I as an admin),
we receive regular updates via email that "Some of your content is retiring soon".

This is really good. Many thanks for working on this!

https://my.percipio.com/admin/engagement/content-status

It'll be even better if the list of custom channels/ journeys affected can also be included in the downloaded report.

Perhaps this could include a column with Channels / journey names and UUID separated by a semi-colon (;)

E.g.,
New Column 1: List of custom channels/ journeys separated by semicolon.
New Column 2: List of associated channels/ journeys UUIDs separated by semicolon.

Please see quoted comments-feedback from one of our Key POC (by a million-dollar account :D)

Let me know if this makes sense!

best,
Caleb

Hi Caleb,

Thanks for the list.

One feedback I have towards the retiring courses is sometime those courses are in the existing assignments. After they are retired, when users click on the assignment, it shows the content doesn’t exist. It’s very confusing to the users. We have received quite a few emails from users because of this.

Can we suggest when a course is retired, it’s either to directly replace the content with new one or allow us admins to edit courses in the assignment?

The system should also give us an alert which assignment includes these retiring courses so that we can change. Otherwise it’s very reactive that we only find out after users complain they can’t access. Can you help us feedback to your product team please?

Thank you.

Hi @Caleb Ho you should be able to see this information in the All Content report by Collection or Title. If they know the content that's being retired, either of those reports will tell them what channel or journey that content is contained in.

FYI we are working on adding retirement and replacement data to the All Content reports. We hope to do that work in Q2. Once these reports off the same type of information as the Content Status report, we intend to retire the Content Status report.

    Thanks for this! @Michael Murphy

We just spoke to the client again today and they raised another ask.

    1. To have retiring content mapped / matched to assignments where these courses sit in.
    2. To have ability to auto-replace retired content in assignments, with replacement content. (for example, a one-click "accept recommended replacement content" to have the content replaced)

They (and us) convey out appreciation for the work you guys are doing to advance Percipio!

    Caleb

@Caleb Ho you're very welcome! I have good news for you and Percipio customers. In the upcoming quarter we have some plans related to content lifecycle, specifically for retiring/retired content.

The Q2 enhancements include updating search results in our admin workflows to let admins know when content is retiring and if it has replacements, and what they are. This gives admins the opportunity to curate a replacement, if it is available, depending on the retirement timeline, right from the curation workflow.

Following that work (not entirely sure right now if it will be Q3 or Q4) but we'll have a new workflow. Admins will be able to see all retired and retiring content with replacements and do the automatic replacement you suggested.
