Hi Sue!
Do you have any advice for marketing Percipio for non-office employees with limited access to technology? A "white collar" vs. "blue collar" approach?
TIA!-------------------------------------------

@Emily Borchmann Several thoughts come to mind. I've seen companies use a "station" approach to this where there are computer stations set up in the area where the workers are not desk-bound. Then, workers are provided scheduled times to step away and take training. Another approach is for the worker's shift to be scheduled to start 15 minutes earlier/later than normal so they can clock in, do the training, then get on the line. Micro-learning works really well in these situations- so the learner can take just short 10-15 minute chunks of learning at a time.Hi Sue!

I would also ask the question how do workers typically get company notices and communications? Try and use the same approach to communicate Percipio. If it is via snail mail, create a plan to promote Percipio that way.

@Dana Siskin One thought would be to create a "non-required" assignment that is pushed to all users. You could include just a few assets that would benefit everyone. It could be something on Time Management, Communication Skills, etc. When a learner sees an assignment, they typically act on it, whether it is required or not.Hi Everyone,

We are looking to launch Percipio to the masses in a few months. How would you recommend they get started? My fear is they will log in and get overwhelmed with all the choices and options available.
My current plan:
Themed monthly learning recommendations tied to our mission
Getting started walkthroughs
Group live event viewing
Percipio Book Clubs
Do you have any other recommendations?

@Jennifer Weaver Welcome to the world of Percipio! This is a great question and it looks like you have already thought some things through. In addition to what you have planned, I always like to push out a non-required assignment with topics that would have interest to everyone. This will get learners involved in Percipio from the start.Hi, Sue!

Another thought is to do a Scavenger Hunt which would have you post questions for your learners to find different features within Percipio. I have also seen crossword puzzles be created with the same concept of answering questions about Percipio features. Within the question can be a link to the KnowledgeBase to help learners respond. Both of these items can be tied to a contest to encourage users to participate.
Have you given thought to getting Manager's involved with the Percipio launch? Create an email that you can send to Managers letting them know about your launch date as a teaser and then create another communication, just for them, to send out to their team. This way, employees will be hearing about Percipio, not only from you but also from their management team.
Finally, creating a custom channel called "CEO Monthly Picks" or something that will be promoted by a senior executive has always generated interest. This could be something you recommend to the CEO to get buy-in and then update the channel on a monthly basis. You could also create promotion strips and banners in support of this as well.
I hope you find some of these ideas helpful!Hello everyone!

Hi Sue,
A company may have gone through changes, day-to-day business, transitions, new admins, etc and learning may have "fallen off the radar".
A question I have heard a few times...Any recommendations for relaunching Percipio, giving a refresh?
Thanks!-------------------------------------------

We often hear that employees "don't have time for training." How can we effectively market the benefits of just in time and microlearning to show that even if they only have 5 minutes a day, it can make an impact?-------------------------------------------

@Emily Borchmann Several thoughts come to mind. I've seen companies use a "station" approach to this where there are computer stations set up in the area where the workers are not desk-bound. Then, workers are provided scheduled times to step away and take training. We are 1 year into the roll-out & I'd have several questions -we have a certain number of inactive users that visit the platform but don't consume content - any data on why this typically happens - advice on reaching out to them apart from system notifications with recommended content? -second: how to address the concerns of learners' who say it is so much content, where do I start? I am sure you have some helpful messaging based on your experience
Thanks in advance!

You may also want to promote some of the new features that were just released last weekend. Here is a link to the release notes. Take a look at the flyer that promotes Q&A within the course player. This is a way to introduce social within the course. The learners gets involved with other people from their organization to ask and respond to questions.
Finally, take a look at this link in the KnowledgBase on Increase Engagement: Tips and Best Practices.0 -
@Kristen Waddell Why not try and make it fun. You can work with your Skillsoft Customer Success Manager to create a Habit Calendar where you are able to link to any asset that you want, which encourages learners to take short micro-learning. You can push the calendar out via a calendar invite and tell them to schedule 5 minutes each day for 1-2 weeks (depending on how many assets you included in the calendar). What I have seen is people typically take more than the 5 minute training and move on to the next asset. We often hear that employees "don't have time for training." How can we effectively market the benefits of just in time and microlearning to show that even if they only have 5 minutes a day, it can make an impact?-------------------------------------------

You may also want to promote the new feature that was released last weekend which allows learners to set a personal learning goal in Percipio. When a learner meets their learning goal for 2 or more weeks they are considered to be on a learning streak. In Q1, admins will be able to run reports on this feature as well.0 -
@Agnes Dynos You may want to run a contest to try and engage inactive users. If you have a budget for marketing and are able to get some prizes, this might be a great way to attract past users. You can host the contest for a month, and the winner can be based on most badges earned, the person who launched the most assets, etc. If this is successful, you may want to try this quarterly.Hi Sue!

Regarding your second question, give learners suggestions on how to search and find content. You may want to create a "Topic of the Month" promotion banner with links to content that is relevant to the organization. This will get learners engaged without having to search and find content on their own. Another thought would be to create a custom channel on Top Learner Picks from your organization. That would be easy to identify by running reports. You could then promote this via promotion strips and banners to make it easy for learners to access content that others in the organization found relevant.0 -

@Nicholas Boyles Marketing should not be a "one and done" approach. It is very important to market on a regular basis to keep your program's visibility up and to attract new users and increase adoption. My recommendation would be to market your program on a monthly basis. Select topics that are important to the organization, such as those that relate to strategic imperatives, core values, competencies, etc. If you are still at a loss as to what topics to promote, reach out to your Customer Success Manager who can share with you a sample marketing plan that recommends topics that have been most requested by clients, with sample communications to support them.Hey Sue,

Thanks @Sue Orchanian! Should companies have a dedicated person do that marketing for the whole organization or would it be better to have managers craft marketing for their teams? Or should it be a combination of both?-------------------------------------------@Nicholas Boyles Marketing should not be a "one and done" approach. Select topics that are important to the organization, such as those that relate to strategic imperatives, core values, competencies, etc. If you are still at a loss as to what topics to promote, reach out to your Customer Success Manager who can share with you a sample marketing plan that recommends topics that have been most requested by clients, with sample communications to support them.

@Nicholas Boyles It varies. Some companies have a marketing department who creates all of the organization's communications. Other companies allow their L&D team to create and promote the communications. It is always a good idea to get managers involved in crafting messaging for their own team, but I have seen the L&D team create sample communications for the managers to send out. So to answer your question, it is a combination. Thanks @Sue Orchanian! Should companies have a dedicated person do that marketing for the whole organization or would it be better to have managers craft marketing for their teams? Or should it be a combination of both?-------------------------------------------

@Nicholas Boyles Marketing should not be a "one and done" approach. Thank you everyone who attended today! We had some excellent questions, and Sue provided some really great information on end user marketing. This thread will remain at the top of the community page for about a week, but will always be available in the Threads.@Kristen Waddell Why not try and make it fun.
You may also want to promote the new feature that was released last weekend which allows learners to set a personal learning goal in Percipio. When a learner meets their learning goal for 2 or more weeks they are considered to be on a learning streak. In Q1, admins will be able to run reports on this feature as well.
We look forward to seeing you at the next Ask Me Anything!-------------------------------------------
