Then post your questions for Scott! The idea actually came from a customer. They (a Fortune 100 banking firm) wanted to create an activity that would engage their high potential employees in leadership training (and leverage the 70-20-10 social learning model) without overwhelming them with content. Senior leaders were assigned as cohort captains and they created packages very similar to those in Meeting in a Box so that those busy leaders would have everything they'd need to host a discussion about a monthly topic.
Overwhelmingly, the best feedback from this program came from the senior leaders themselves. Not only did they report strong participation and satisfaction from their cohort groups, but they felt they had a better grasp on the business as a whole after discussing pressing topics they might have not heard about otherwise. Learning outcomes for the learners were so strong that the company implemented an annual program leveraging this model and almost all of the senior leaders signed on to lead the next cohort groups.
Meeting in a Box is a framework designed to engage staff and empower leaders. It gives you all of the tools you'd need to deliver something similar to the example above. We wanted to provide you with something you could use out of the box with curated templates but we've also added blank templates so you can create your own around any topic you want. Check out the blog where we detail more about Meeting in a Box or download the Meeting in a Box package.

Great question Laura! This will depend on a number of factors related to the audience going through the training - time available, importance of training initiative, mandated vs. ad hoc, role type, etc.. I'd always recommend including all modalities in any initiative if possible so that everyone has an opportunity to learn in their preferred modality but this can be as simple as adding a book summary, audio summary, or Practice asset so that learners have choice but won't require an excessive amount of time to complete.Hi Scott - any recommendations in terms of length, format, style when curating content? Asking the right questions to the right people is key though! Senior leadership may have priorities they want to target for the business as a whole that can be achieved through training. Frontline leaders and functional leaders are also great sources of information about challenges their teams are facing and can be great contacts to not only identify training opportunities but also to get the word out once you've identified the right content for their needs.
If it is a more formal initiative then courseware would generally be my preferred recommendation so that you can measure success (courses require test completions). If it is more informal then shorter, but more frequent bursts of learning can be more effective as you can touch on more topics in less time. The Skillsoft New Habit Calendar is a great example of how this could work - daily or even weekly learning that can be completed in as little as 5 minutes.Skillsoft offers A LOT of really great resources to help you align your solution. Built right into Percipio we have the Channels which consolidate and organize content and Aspire Journeys provide a curated learning path for users to work through. You can also create your own Channels or Journeys in Percipio and we offer a number of options to help streamline that process for you as well. First, we offer ready-to-use content maps for the most frequently requested topics across our customer base (click for Popular IT Skills and Business & Leadership Skills). Second, we offer a free content mapping service to curate content for you based on the topics or competencies you want to target. Third, we also offer a whole suite of content mappings to the most popular competency models like Korn Ferry, Lominger, Myers-Briggs, Zenger Folkman, DDI, Strengthscope, DISC, Color Code, and Predictive Index Behavior Alignment (click to see the latest version of each!).
Hope this gives you somewhere to start!-------------------------------------------

This is a great concept. We run a similar program on an annual basis that is a 2 hour requirement. This resource is sparking ideas on how we can improve what we are currently doing. My question though is, are the assets assigned usually available in an Enterprise collection license or are they a part of the SLDP license?-------------------------------------------The idea actually came from a customer. There are a couple ways I'd recommend reporting on Meeting in a Box. The first is to create a feedback loop between the administrators of the program and the leaders who host the discussions. This can be a great way to identify new topics and get a pulse on how different teams are leveraging the framework. Secondly, the content is defined for the curated templates so an activity report filtered to those assets would give an administrator a good idea of how much learning resulted from the initiative. If there is demand for it, I could look at putting together a workbook that summarizes these data points.-------------------------------------------Do you have recommendations on how to showcase the results of Meeting in a Box to the stakeholders . . . a way that they can see the value that came as a result of the Meeting in a Box program?

Since the program is driven by management, do you suggest an extensive marketing campaign to support it, or just an email from management reminding users to complete the recommended content.I would love to expand the Manager Toolkits. I believe you are referring to Meeting in a Box? If so, it is designed so that the leader hosting the discussion is the one to distribute the included marketing flyer to their team. This gives them ownership over the learning and allows the content to be marketed more organically within teams. All the administrator needs to do is populate the links to the templates (sharelink generator included) and perhaps brand it with their colors and/or logo but beyond that it is designed to be low-effort for both the central organizer as well as the participants.
-------------------------------------------
However, the beauty of the MiaB framework is that it can be adjusted in just about any way that a company wants. It could easily be adjusted so that the central administrator is the one to send out the marketing as a blast communication and remove that step from the shoulders of managers. It really comes down to what would work best for the customer and what they want their initiative to look like. Hopefully the blog post and the included instructions are enough to provide a good sense of how the framework is leveraged and then they'd have free reign to adjust it to suit their needs. If there is anything else that would be beneficial to an administrator like a job aid or positioning document, I'd be happy to produce and add it to the Meeting in a Box package.

Hi Lauren, I'm so glad that you're getting some ideas from this! All of the curated assets are part of our standard Business & Leadership collection which comes in either the Expert or Advance flavors. The Advance collection does not include the book assets so you'd be limited to the courses but the Expert collection would include everything. I made sure to curate resources for both collections though as I wanted as many customers as possible to take advantageThis is a great concept. Then post your questions for Scott! They are closely related, and are used interchangeably in a lot of cases, but I would argue that they mean different things in the context of a learning program.
-------------------------------------------
When a program is well-aligned, it means that the training material and programming is meeting the needs of a particular audience. An audience can be anything from a business priority or imperative, a geographic team, a specific job role or team, etc.. So, when we say that we're aligning content, it's in alignment to that particular group of people or priority that has been identified to need training.
Curation on the other hand is the process of identifying and linking of relevant content to the need of the audience you are aligning to.
A simple example of this is new-leader training. You have a group of people who need to develop specific skills so you are aligning your program to meet that need. You then identify which competencies or topics that group needs to develop and those are what you curate your content around.
